We all get thrown from our horse every now and then. Sometimes life throws us a curve ball that takes us out for a bit. We falter. We fall down. We crumble. We cry.
It’s healthy to feel the pain when we’re hurting. Avoiding it only makes it sneak out in other places in our lives. So give yourself a giant pity party for a day or two. But eventually there comes a point at which there’s a fork in the road and you have to decide, are you going to continue to let the pain rule your life or are you going to get back on the horse and ride?
Courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway. ~John Wayne
It takes a lot of courage to get back on the horse of life after you’ve been thrown. But each of us has that courage and that drive within us to succeed at happiness. So we must agree with ourselves to control the things we can control, which by my estimation is not a helluva lot, and let go of the rest, then proceed with the business of living our best life.
