This weekend my sister and I and our families gathered up things to share with victims of Hurricane Sandy through Buckeyes for Sandy. It felt good to load up bedding, clothes, shoes, and backpacks to share with those who need them so much more than we do.
And it made me feel especially good when my 12-year-old son came up with all of these toys to share…
We loaded up my sister’s van with bins and more bins…well, I should say that my sister, Melanie, loaded up the van…
My camera-shy son loads up in the background…
And my niece, Anna, peaking though the bins…
Off we went to the drop-off in Columbus at the Ohio Stadium on the Ohio State University campus.
Here we are, sports fans…
The Buckeyes for Sandy Facebook page said to look for the White Castle truck. In my mind I was imagining a giant White Castle 18-wheeler, but thought maybe I was exaggerating. Wait…look…off in the distance…
Yeah! A giant White Castle 18-wheeler! How awesome that was to see a huge truck, ready to be filled with things for people in need.
A close-up…
Awesome!
A handful of awesome volunteers were making the magic happen…
…all happening at the south end of the Horseshoe…
Thank you again John Galvin, Jim Reid, and the all of the volunteers for the amazing work you did.
It is awesome what people can do when they put their hearts and minds together to help others!
