Figure it out for ourselves

Unfortunately, not everyone gets the support they need growing up. And not everyone makes choices that leads to getting that kind of love and support as adults either. Some people have just never really been treated like they’re special. Haven’t been put first. Haven’t been loved the way they should have been. Or lots of life happened to them that made them feel like maybe they weren’t special people.

Sad, but it happens this way for many, many people.

But really, each of us is special in some unique and wonderful way. Oftentimes in many different ways. And even if others haven’t been out there in life singing our praises, each of us needs to recognize what’s special within ourselves.

Sometimes we need to figure it out for ourselves. Maybe there is no one there telling you how great you are. Maybe you’ve never ever experienced that. OK. It is what it is. But we can figure that out for ourselves. In fact, it’s important that each of us figure out what makes us so unique and different and wonderful and special. It’s really the basis of who we are.

Every single one of us has two rather simple choices…to continue to listen to the tapes that are playing saying we aren’t special and don’t deserve a good life or we can take a good look at ourselves and figure out what makes us special.

And if we can figure out for ourselves what makes us special and believe it, then no one can take that away from us. That belief in oneself builds a strength of character that is hard to deny. It brings out the best in us and then we can share what’s wonderful and unique about us with the world.
