We live in a society in which many people feel as if sharing what we’re good at is to be considered bragging and somehow inappropriate.
Well, I’m calling bullshit on that, right here and now.
Time to recognize what you’re good at and honor your own awesomeness. Flaunt your strengths, people!
We don’t become strong without effort. Much goes into it, no matter what our strengths are. Blood, sweat, and tears. Sometimes pain and agony.
So whether we’re getting all literal and talking about physical strength or being more figurative and referring to ways in which we’ve become strong in our hearts, souls, and minds, either way it’s always amazing when a human being has pushed themselves to grow in new and different ways, blossoming from a smaller, weaker person into a beautiful, graceful flower of a human being.
And honestly, that kind of growth never comes easily. It comes after heartache or after pushing oneself emotionally or physically, or sometimes both. Lessons learned the hard way. The school of hard knocks. Been down that road a few hundred times myself. Including a couple times just this week.
So why hide the strengths that we’ve worked so hard to develop? Why not flaunt our joyous growth and our powerful strengths?
Oh, I’ll tell you why.
Because someone might judge you. Might say that you’re bragging. Maybe even that you’re self-centered.
To hell with the naysayers!
Be loud, be proud, and flaunt your strengths, damn it! And if someone is intimidated by what you’ve worked so hard to accomplish, too bad! You’ve earned the bragging rights!
What are your strengths? Share them in the comments so we can all revel in your awesomeness.
