Feeling like you need to spice things up a bit? Add a little excitement to your life? But keep getting hung up on lack of time and/or funds?
How about a microadventure?
There are many ways to add excitement to our lives, and not all of them require a lot of cash or time off from work or your day-to-day responsibilities. Consider the microadventure. Wikipedia describes a microadventure as…
Short, perspective-shifting bursts of travel closer to home, inspiring followers to pitch a tent in nearby woods, explore their city by moonlight, or hold a family slumber party in the backyard.” The concept is flexible enough in its definition to allow the individual to choose the location, duration, and overall scope of the adventure. Microadventures are generally considered affordable in that little to no specialized gear is required, travel costs are trivial or nonexistent, and only a minimal amount of provisions are needed for the outing.
I would even take it a bit further and consider that a microadventure could include just exploring a new corner of your own town or city, or even trying out a new cuisine or restaurant.
Bottom line…mix it up a bit with a microadventure!
