Here’s one way to be awesome. Stop talking shit about yourself.
What am I talking about? Self talk. That’s what I’m talking about.
There’s no way you can be awesome if you’re saying the wrong things to yourself. Like when you make a mistake, saying, “Wow, I’m so dumb.” Or if you forgot something, saying, “That was stupid.” Or any other way of saying something negative about yourself.
I hear people doing this every. single. day. And I despise it. It makes me cringe. Because it’s completely untrue and your brain believes what you tell it. I once read a study supporting this, but couldn’t locate it on the vast internet to share here. (If you’re familiar with the study, please post a link in the comments.)
But let’s assume that it’s true. Let’s assume that if you say that you’re stupid your brain will believe it. Why would anyone do that? Telling yourself you’re dumb is dumb. So stop it. Stop talking shit about yourself.
Start telling yourself how awesome you are. Because you *are* awesome.
Go be awesome. And tell yourself about it. It’s just that simple.
