A seriously awesome love letter…only thing missing is “Please check one, yes or no”
I’m something of a romantic. And something of a writer. So it probably comes as no surprise that I’m something of a love letter writer as well.
With no significant other in my life at this particular moment in time, I don’t have anyone to write to.
At the same time, I’ve been on a serious self-empowerment kick over the past couple of days, more than usual. So I decided that I am going to send love letters to myself. Official love letters. Reminding myself of how awesome I am. Sending them in the mail and all.
Now your initial reaction might be, “Geez, that’s pretty self centered.”
Well, think what you want, but let me turn that thought on its ear.
Why should any one of us wait for someone else to tell us what is awesome about us? Shouldn’t we be aware of our own wonderful traits?
True confidence is built from within, based on that which we know to be true about ourselves. So why not send a letter to yourself, telling yourself what is amazing about you? In fact, send yourself several.
Buy some cool stationary – the kind you’d buy for that someone special, because you are that someone special. Then write yourself a warm, endearing love letter and put it in the mail. Everyone loves getting mail (especially when it’s something interesting, not bills).
And if you’re feeling sheepish about it, do it anyway. Nobody has to know about it. It will be our little secret.
When you get your love letter in the mail, read it and believe what you read. Because it’s true.
Love yourself and don’t wait for someone else to tell you how you’re awesome. Tell yourself. And believe it. Because you are awesome.
