Tonight something hit me like a ton of bricks. Not sure why it struck me so hard on this particular evening. Maybe because I’m tired from two days of traveling, which has worn me down a bit. Or maybe just because it’s a notion whose time has come.
It came to me as I was sitting in the Philadelphia airport, people watching for a spell. Strangely none of the passersby probably noticed the ton of bricks as it was landing on my head, but for me it was momentous, like a switch flipped on in my being when I realized that to truly feel good and whole, I need to feel proud of what I’m doing.
I need to walk the proud land to feel that I am living a life of meaning and purpose. I need to walk in a truth in my life that makes me feel proud. I need to be doing things in my life that are meaningful to me and make a difference in people’s lives.
Things that create change in people’s hearts and minds.
Things that make people laugh.
Things that make people cry with joy.
Things that simplify and beautiful the environment people live in.
Things that help people grow and stretch.
Things that bring beauty and love to people’s lives.
Those are the things that make me feel proud. Those are the things that make me walk the proud land.
What makes you walk the proud land?
